    Responsibilities

    • Provide engineering and testing, research, and evaluation support including monitoring, analyzing, detecting and responding to cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks
    • Configure and manage a variety of networking infrastructure components, including Linux servers, embedded networking devices, various security appliances, and other ancillary networking components, including DNS, Web and proxy servers
    • Work in a dynamic and unstructured environment, determine resources needed to accommodate new test requirements, and apply knowledge of CNE concepts and tools
    • Provide operational support, to include tool testing in an operational environment and coordinating and resolving issues with vendors and other appropriate personnel
    • Develop and apply advanced methods, theories and research techniques for the investigation and resolution of complex project requirements and technical specifications for software development projects
    • Hands-on experience and demonstrated expertise in installation, configuration, and administration of Linux devices in support of cyber security solutions

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Experience in network equipment and operation lab management
    • Extensive experience in administering a variety of Linux platforms, including, but not limited to Debian, RedHat, and Ubuntu
    • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, or Python
    • Experience with configuration and administration of a variety of embedded network routers and switches, both consumer and enterprise grade
    • Familiarity with network information security methodologies
    • Working knowledge of configuration management practices
    • Experience in managing or supporting the product development lifecycle

     

    Required proficiency in the following areas:

    • Installation and configuration of Linux systems
    • Maintenance of network services, equipment and devices, including consumer and enterprise grader embedded devices
    • Configuration and maintenance of network and computing infrastructure
    • Network Familiarity: Switches, Routers, Hubs, Servers, Cables, Racks, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP
    • Familiarity with VMware, vSphere infrastructure
    • Understanding of network management software and protocols
    • Basic knowledge of software design and development concepts

    Desired:

    • Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to work in a fast paced environment of rapidly changing requirements in support of the client mission
    • Must be a team player and possess a strong ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team as well as work independently with minimal supervision
    • Willing to periodically travel in support of technical exchange meetings, program reviews, and system testing
    • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
    • MCSE, CCNA, CISSP certifications a plus
