    The Sponsor is seeking a talented and ambitious Systems Engineer with a strong technical background in IT, particularly cloud computing in Amazon Web Services (AWS). This individual will work on a high profile component of the Identity and Access Management (IDAM) service on an existing engineering team. This individual will have a strong background in Linux, Cloud Computing, and general Enterprise IT best practices.


    The candidate will work with subject matter experts (SMEs), data architects, senior managers, and operations group personnel to develop, design and implement enterprise class IT solutions. He/She will work with technology such as AWS, DEVOPS, test defined development (TDD), web services, access control capabilities, and with the Sponsor’s Partners. The candidate will learn, maintain and implement DEVOPs solutions using emerging technologies and concepts. In this capacity, the candidate will be comfortable providing architecture, design and feedback to maintain these ideals both amongst the engineering team and to Sponsor representatives as needed. The candidate should be comfortable working closely with Software Developers, but is not required to be a developer. The candidate will be expected to exhibit strong oral and written communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical topics to management and non-technical audiences. This includes facilitating and leading technical discussions.


    Responsibilities to include;

    • Implementing and writing Bash and YAML scripts for repeatable processes during deployments, installations, patching, log rotation and basic system functionality 
    • Recommending and implementing goals that push towards automation, enterprise-quality stability and timely customer requirement changes
    • Rigorous testing and verification of engineering level quality of work to include reviewing Github pull requests, implementing merging and tagging strategies, planning and executing against outages or degraded states and fully understanding how capabilities relate to each other
    • Providing hands-on technical support during deployments, releases and implementations to include implementing log rotation, effective monitoring solutions, auto-deployments of infrastructure through Cloud Formation





    • Demonstrated experience with lifecycle management of complex, modern scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, or Python.
    • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and securing AWS architectures, including: VPC, subnets, Route Tables, EC2, EBS, S3, RDS (MySQL and Oracle), encryption and others.
    • Demonstrated experience working in an operational environment responsible for the development, operation and maintenance, as well as client support, of large scale enterprise applications.
    • Demonstrated experience taking initiative to learn project specific technologies with minimal hands on guidance from team members. 


    Desired Skills:

    • Demonstrated experience working with Github/Gitlab/Subversion with integration into greater DEVOPs tool suites to include Jenkins and Artifactory/Nexus with knowledge of best practices.
    • Demonstrated experience working with Rundeck/Puppet/Chef/Ansible.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of testing practices and frameworks, to include automated testing suites, unit testing, end-to-end and user-acceptance testing.
    • Demonstrated experience working inside an Agile process; working with story creation, execution and closing via Agile boards; daily stand-ups; sprint planning; demonstrations to Sponsor; mentoring of other team members and best practices.
    • Demonstrated experience deploying software in the Sponsor’s environment.
    • Demonstrated experience utilizing IdAM practices and methodologies for authentication, authorization and directory services.
    • Demonstrated experience writing YAML scripts.
    • Demonstrated experience producing documentation for developing a technical body of knowledge used for sharing information across the team.
