    The program has an opening for an Engineer to provide SETA support to a government program office. This position requires insight and experience in a wide range of RF systems engineering tasks. These include but are not limited to terrestrial and SATCOM systems, RF wireless systems, and recent experience directly supporting COTRs in a SETA role.  An essential requirement for this individual is to use their experience to identify performance and capability gaps of existing systems and new systems in development.  This position also requires strong interpersonal and team environment skills, as well as project management skills.  Document preparation and the ability to communicate effectively are also needed.

    This position desires familiarity with communication theory, specialized digital modulations, spread spectrum analysis, digital signal processing, link budgets, and state of the art communication processing techniques.  Work is performed in the Chantilly, VA area.  Additionally, this engineer will be expected to travel to various sites across WMA.  Travel outside WMA will be 10% of the time.



    • Performance analysis
    • Interact with team members in both engineering development roles and operational roles
    • Use of laboratory and in-field test equipment
    • Use of software defined radios
    • Long range communication, both terrestrial and SATCOM
    • Familiarity with frequency spectrum allocations
    • Requires 10 to 12 years with BS/BA or 8 to 10 years with MS/MA or 5 to 7 years with PhD.
    • TS/SCI with Poly


    • Knowledge and use of receivers, spectrum analyzers, and signal analyzers
    • Development and understanding of link budgets
    • Software tools including MATLAB, Simulink Toolboxes, Python, and test scripting
    • Terrestrial wireless communication, both fixed and mobile
    • Familiarity with RF propagation modeling
